Rev. Wright is ready for Vice President. Obama is outraged, as Fox News Oliver North accuses al Qaeda connection. Stuck on stupid Sean Hannity plays the race card, while the Freedom Alliance profits. Hypocrisy & accusations from America's shock jocks. Fox News Hannity & Colmes show devotes much time to the Rev. Jeremiah Wright controversy. I guess Sean is really interested in black liberation theology.

Truly liberation frees the captives and the captors. It frees the oppressed and it frees the oppressors. So there is still hope for Hannity.
On the 4/29/2008 show, convicted liar Oliver North (his conviction was later overturned on appeal) buddied up with race-obsessed Sean Hannity in the Rev. Wright dog pile and dirt smear.

Beyond the show's usual racial angle against vocal black leaders with influence, North accused Wright of being a tool for “a recruiting campaign for Al Qaeda and all the enemies of America.”
I guess Ollie didn't like Rev. Wright's remarks about him at the National Press Club, in which he said: "Our congregation stood in solidarity with the peasants in El Salvador and Nicaragua, while our government, through Ollie North and the Iran-Contra scandal, was supporting the Contras, who were killing the peasants and the Miskito Indians in those two countries."
Hannity whining in usual fashion said rather hypocritically of Rev. Wright, “He attacked me in a eulogy at a funeral, for crying out loud!”
In defense of Rev. Wright, what he said at the funeral of the late R. Eugene Pincham, a retired judge, was well received by those present. Rev. Wright said Pincham befriended "Jews, Muslims, rabbis, imams, fathers in the Catholic church, and (Louis) Farrakhan in the Islamic faith."
Wright said: "Fox News can't understand that. O'Reilly will never get that. Sean Hannity's stupid fantasy will keep him forever stuck on stupid when it comes to comprehending how you can love a brother who does not believe what you believe."
The remarks drew a standing ovation at the filled mega-church which seats 2,500 people.

Ironically, Sean Hannity did not hesitate smearing his supposed friend, Rev. Joseph Lowery and his eulogy for Coretta Scott King when patriotic Hannity thought it too critical of President Bush.
When North hysterically tried to say Rev. Wright had gone after everything that is good and decent in America, Colmes stepped in to affirm that indeed there was an Iran-Contra scandal which North was heavily involved in. North sheepishly replied, "There was certainly issues." (while putting his head down)
When North tried to bring up accusations concerning which boards Obama has sat on, Colmes pointed out that Bush 41 sits on the board of The Carlyle Group with a member of the Bin Laden family. “Do we go after him for that? Do we play that game of guilt by association?”
Leveled twice by Colmes, Colonel North attempted to smear Rev. Wright for having bought “about a $10 million mansion in an all white neighborhood.” It's worth noting that certainly would put to rest the lying accusation that Wright is a racist.

Concerning Wright's home: “Good for him.” Colmes said. “Aren't you a capitalist?” North said, “I certainly am, but I don't do it on public charity.”
On the contrary! Oliver North's "Freedom Alliance" charity which he founded in 1990 was given a grade of F in 2007 by the American Institute of Philanthropy - a leading watchdog organization which monitors federal tax filings and got substantial coverage by the Washington Post.
Concerning the charities who earned an F for their woeful inefficiencies, Daniel Borochoff, president and founder of the Chicago-based institute said: “They know how to work the system, and they seem pretty good at not going over the line, although it is pretty outrageous that so little money is actually winding up benefiting charities.”
It's sad to hear about and that considering the hefty ticket price charged for the so-called "benefit" Freedom Concerts that Hannity puts on for North's charity each year. It seems Veterans aren't receiving what donors think.

Yet the likes of North and Hannity are quick to try to discredit a man like Rev. Wright who has a long history of credible service to his country and community.
Rev. Wright reported the charitable work of his organization to the National Press Club. "Our congregation sent 35 men and women through accredited seminaries to earn their master of divinity degrees, with an additional 40 currently being enrolled in seminary, while building two senior citizen housing complexes and running two child care programs for the poor, the unemployed, the low-income parents on the south side of Chicago for the past 30 years."
"Our congregation feeds over 5,000 homeless and needy families every year, while our government cuts food stamps and spends billions fighting in an unjust war in Iraq."
(APPLAUSE)
"Our congregation has sent dozens of boys and girls to fight in the Vietnam War, the first Gulf War, and the present two wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. My God-daughter’s unit just arrived in Iraq this week, while those who call me unpatriotic have used their positions of privilege to avoid military service, while sending — (APPLAUSE) – while sending over 4,000 American boys and girls of every race to die over a lie."
(APPLAUSE)
"Our congregation has had an HIV-AIDS ministry for over two decades. Our congregation has awarded over $1 million to graduating high school seniors going into college and an additional $500,000 to the United Negro College Fund...."
When questioned about his American patriotism, Rev. Wright replied: "I served six years in the military. Does that make me patriotic? How many years did Cheney serve?"
Concerning Obama who is running for President, Rev. Wright said with a smile: "I do what pastors do. He does what politicians do. I am not running for office. I am hoping to be vice president."
Rev. Wright reiterated the motto of the AME Church has always been, “God our father, man our brother, and Christ our redeemer.”
Including all races within the word “man” Rev. Wright reminded the country at the National Press Club "reconciliation was the goal, not retaliation."
Undoubtedly our nation can use some more racial understanding, tolerance, and acceptance.
The bipartisan demonization of political candidates is a disgrace considering the hypocritical acts of imperial oppression wrought by America in foreign theaters of war. Before we take small sound bites from entire speeches, it would behoove us to hear the totality of what a man or woman is saying before we believe the media, who is quick to cut the news short in order to profit from the next commercial break.
