Angry at God?

If so, don't feel bad. I have been there before.

Yet sometimes God is justified in not giving us what we want. I say that for a number of reasons.

1. If you got what you want, it might destroy you.

2. When you get what you want, you may not want what you've got.

Often we lust and desperately yearn for something, which once we become more acquainted with we no longer like any more.

3. Your character and skill set may not be developed enough to properly handle what you most want.

I child may want a gun, but if he were to get it there is a strong likelihood he would kill himself.

I recently was shocked to hear of all the recent Toyota recalls on their popular cars and SUVs - particularly the avalon and Rav-4, both of which we nearly bought.

Thankfully the financing and terms were not pleasing to us and some minor contractual details were cause for delay in purchasing these vehicles.

Thank God! Thank God! Thank God we didn't buy Toyota!

Recently a massive recall of tens-of-thousands of these Toyota Avalons and Rav-4s (among other vehicles) has been going on because the gas peddle gets stuck and people cannot stop the vehicle. One man experienced his Toyota accelerating at up to 100 mph and couldn't stop the car when he attempted to put his foot on the brake.

So I say to you my friends who feel discouraged, disappointed and disillusioned - delay is not denial. God remains a good God and is looking out for you, having your best interest at heart.

Trust Him!

I nearly married a young lady to whom I was engaged, when suddenly the relationship fell apart and disintegrated.

At the time I was disappointed and disillusioned. Hey, love itself is often nothing more than lust and infatuation coupled with some internal illusions with exhuberant emotions. (More on that later...)

Yet when that young lady left my life, it opened the door for God to bring me the beautiful young lady (way better than the one who left) I am married to today!

Trust God. Go forward. Don't always seek closure on that which you don't understand.

Make a decision to be happy and expectant for miracles everyday!

As you do, God will show Himself strong today!

Dealing with Difficult People Speaker: Jealous, Envious and Adversarial Relationships

Sunday, December 20. 2009

It never ceases to amaze me how mixed up internally people are and how clueless they are to the subconscious within that suddenly releases the inner emotions bottled up in a moment in time when they least expect it.

I recall one young lady I dated who struggled immensely with jealousy and envy. When I brought to her a blessing, she immediately turned it into a curse.

I invited her to go with me and another couple on a snow skiing trip. Instead of rejoicing and celebrating over the invitation, she immediately inwardly began comparing herself with the other young lady my friend is married to.

"She is so sweet. I will kill her." my former girlfriend said.

I replied, "Is that you speaking or the devil in you?"

"Jesus said, 'The devil comes to kill, steal and destroy...' (John 10:10). Are you working for Satan now?"

How is it a precious blessing can so easily be flipped, reframed, negatively received and turned into a curse?

It is because the person receiving the stimuli has a messed up computer atop their shoulders and is terribly insecure within. Hence instead of rejoicing with others, they are quick to compare and size others up in hopes of somehow elevating themselves.

This adversarial posturing is unhealthy and socially devasting. No wonder this ex-girlfriend of mine had so few friends.

It is hard to make and keep friends when you are too busy inwardly competing and comparing yourself to them. Break out of that insecurity and rut to rejoice with others, be fully present and enjoy the moment.

Life is not meant to be a continual competition, but a cooperative celebration!

Stress Reduction Speaker: Secrets to Reduce Stress, Live Happier and Longer

Friday, December 18. 2009

Next to lack of sleep, Dr. Oz says stress is the number 2 cause of premature aging.

Bad news for many with high amounts of stress in their lives.

What are some of the major causes of stress:
1. Bills and financial obligations.
2. Family members who overspend using your money.
3. Noisy and negative people full of whining and complaining.
4. Succumbing to and allowing yourself to be emotionally manipulated by others expectations.
5. Nonstop technological and media bombardment infringing on your mental space and inner peace.

That being said do the following to minimize stress:
1. Pay your bills on time each month.
2. Live beneath your means spending less than you earn.
3. Demand that family who add to your expenditures carry their weight, contribute and pay bills too (or don't spend).
4. Sleep 8 hours daily (every 24 hours....whenever it is you sleep) to renew and revitalize your body, calm your emotions and quiet your mind.
5. Stop complaining & negative criticism, while eliminating those who do from your midst.
6. Express more thankfulness to God and others throughout your day.
7. Practice deep breathing to take in more oxgyen (vital to life) and calm nervous emotions.
8. Slow down and think before you speak and hastily act.
9. Take time daily (best time is at the beginning of the day) to quietly reflect and meditate.
10. Set your intention at the beginning of each day to direct your energy and guard your focus.
11. Lower the volume when speaking and listening to the radio, TV and others on the phone.
12. Cultivate a healthy sense of humor and laugh more throughout your day.
13. Use your answer machine more often and stop being bulldozed over by demanding and needy people.
14. Exercise daily to achieve optimal health, peak performance, burn fat, detox and increase blood flow.
15. Eat cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage and kale (all high in stress-relieving B vitamins).
16. Get a full body massage at least once a month.
17. Sweat and detox in a sauna.
18. Travel away from home every three months (minimum), even if just for a weekend road trip, to get away and enjoy your life.
19. Listen to instrumental music.
20. Mute commercials on TV and the radio, or fast forward through them (if pre-recorded), or change channels.

Cauliflower is also one of the very best sources of vitamin B5 or pantothenic acid, the latter of which helps turn carbohydrates and fats into usable energy and improves your ability to respond to stress by supporting your adrenal glands. Fatigue, listlessness, numbness and tingling or burning pain in the feet are all indications that you may need more vitamin B5 in your diet.

The above mentioned are all phenomenal ways to minimize stress, slow down the aging process, live happier, longer and stronger.

Senator Grassley TV Evangelists Investigation - Benny Hinn, Joyce Meyer, Creflo Dollar, Paula White

Sunday, December 13. 2009

I attended a dead church that I fell asleep in for 20 years as a youth growing up until accidentally stumbling upon the conclusion of a Christian TV broadcast. The show called the 700 Club was led by Pat Robertson who invited viewers at home to pray with him, which I did inviting Christ Jesus to forgive me of my sins and to come live big in my heart by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Immediately I was filled with the Holy Spirit in my bedroom as an electric sensation and powerful divine visitation deeply effected me both inwardly and tangibly upon my body. Four days later I went with a Marine, whom I jogged with every morning, to a youth service at Pastor Benny Hinn's former church Orlando Christian Center (OCC). Though Pastor Benny wasn't there, the Presence of the Lord and His Spirit was. Again I had another supernatural visitation at the youth gathering in which a young lady spoke a word God had placed on her heart. As she spoke I felt quadruple the fire of the Holy Spirit I experienced in my bedroom.

I said all of that to say this, God can use TV to touch humanity as He did me. The vessels through whom God works can be flawed (as we all our who live in human flesh), but undoubtedly the Lord God can use people regardless of their motivation for being in ministry.
The apostle Paul himself acknowledged this and said nevertheless let the gospel of God be preached (Philippians 1:15-18).

Jesus anointed a rooster to crow and speak to his backslidden apostle Peter who denied Him three times. God in the Old Testament used a donkey to speak to a rebellious prophet. So know assuredly God's Word will be declared throughout the earth by every means possible.

It is natural for ministers who pay a heavy price to consecrate themselves and sacrifice decades of their lives to remain pure and be carriers of God's glory to by reason of their divine association to be greatly blessed. Show me your friends and I will show you your future. There is no greater friend than God. Let's not forget God has gold streets in heaven and He desires to prosper His servants on earth (see Psalm 35:27).

Hence God's magnificence and glory can be transmitted to His ministers and their ministries. Fame and fortune therefore follows as a result. As long as these ministers remain humble and keep their eyes on Jesus, give God the glory and continue to abide in their heavenly callings without distraction the blessings shall continue to flow.

Certainly it is easy for the followers of Christ to become fixated on the vessels and chosen servants the Lord uses. Yet such is a hindrance and distraction for the people of God, because God alone ultimately is our Source.

Pastor Benny said tonight (Dec. 12, 2009) at his Fire Conference in Orlando, FL that it wasn't until he took his eyes off of Kathryn Kuhlman and put his eyes on God as His Source that God began to anoint and empower him.

That is one thing I always appreciated about Pastor Benny (as I attended his church for 2 and 1/2 years, completing a youth Bible Training with him over a 13 week period back in 1991). Pastor Benny always warned us never to touch the glory, girls or gold. He said that if our hands would not get greedily sticky, the Lord would allow money to flow through our hands to do the work of the ministry.

Pastor Benny Hinn announced tonight (Dec. 12, 2009) that in 2010 he would not take one cent from Benny Hinn Ministries and committed to live entirely by faith. Although God did not command him to do so, to avoid reproach and for the gospel's sake Pastor Benny (the prince of the man of God that he is) has chosen to not touch a penny of the offerings of Gods people that go into his ministry.

Pastor Benny in my opinion is one of the most pure hearted ministers on the planet. The depth of his love for Jesus is evident when he leads worship in his services and sings the timeless hymns of the church. The loving, heart melting Presence of God is frequently present in his meetings and God always gets the glory for everything done in Jesus Name.

Certainly I am a babe in Christ doing my personal best like Pastor Benny to preach the gospel around the world (on a much smaller scale), having traveled to 55 countries where I have visited many impoverished third-world and war-torn nations. Unfortunately I have never had the financial wherewithal of these great ministers and have greatly depleted my own personal savings serving the Lord rarely having enough to take much of a salary. Yet I believe God is faithful and will restore me and bless me above and beyond all I can ask or think as He has promised (Ephesians 3:20; Mark 10:28-31)...even a hundredfold thereby enabling me to again go to and fro throughout the earth preaching His Word to save souls.

As declared by Jesus in Mark 10:28-31 the blessing of the Lord comes with "persecutions" of all types as people get jealous, envious and bitter. Yet since "God is no respecter of persons" (Acts 10:34-35) if we will learn and live according to God's ways (Psalm 103:7) we too can obediently walk right into our personal promised land and divine inheritance (Acts 20:32; Ephesians 1:17-18) and ourselves also be greatly blessed.

Therefore having money is not evil, as it undergirds and sustains the work of the ministry. What is questionable however is the allocation of funds donated with sincerity of heart to ministry purposes that are alternatively earmarked and used for the minister's own lavish lifestyle. I do believe in prosperity, though I am far from it in my own life. Moreover I believe many of these famous ministers sowed in tears in their early years of ministry and are entitled to live well for faithfully serving well (most of the accused for decades).

Why should a drug dealer and foul mouthed rap singer be allowed to roll in the dough and live large, but not a minister? Certainly I realize the means by which ministers raise money can be highly questionable if such funds are not used accordingly. This is what Senator Grassley as a servant of the American people who elected him is endeavoring to remedy and account for.

"I'm following up on complaints from the public and news coverage regarding certain practices at six ministries," Grassley said in a statement. "The allegations involve governing boards that aren't independent and allow generous salaries and housing allowances and amenities such as private jets and Rolls Royces. "I don't want to conclude that there's a problem, but I have an obligation to donors and the taxpayers to find out more. People who donated should have their money spent as intended and in adherence with the tax code."

Another point worth noting is TV is not cheap. I'd love to go on Christian TV, but can hardly afford consistently paying for such a broadcast. I can only imagine the multiplied millions that are necessary to pay to be on TV in 200 countries, as Pastor Benny's "This is Your Day!" program. People should also keep in mind that ministers like Pastor Benny earn a lot of their money from book sales, which royalties they as authors are entitled to enjoy. As an author myself, I know writing a book is a lot of work.

Certainly Bishop Eddie Long (Lithonia, Ga.) has greatly impacted the community and nation with his politically active congregation of over 25,000. Grassley seems to have a problem with a God that blesses both financially and spiritually, but this is Bible Senator.

Pastor Creflo and Taffi Dollar (College Park, Ga.) have a thriving broadcast known as "Changing Your World" which is seen in more than 150 countries. Economic empowerment is important and helpful to people abroad as the demand for such programming is evident.

Where the alleged controversy begins for some is when ministers own Rolls Royces, multiple private jets and multi-million dollar mansions. This to some is an "appearance of evil" and excess which more conservative Christians think we as believers should avoid so as not to bring reproach upon the Lord and the God-given message (see 1 Thessalonians 5:22).

Kenneth and Gloria Copeland (Newark, Texas) have a broadcast and publish the "Believer's Voice of Victory," which touches and strengthens people throughout the world. Solid and fully persuaded practitioners of the Word of Faith movement, the Copelands themselves have been very generous giving to many ministers and charitable causes. They too believe in financial and spiritual rewards. And why shouldn't they? After all the Bible says, "godliness is profitable in all things" (1 Timothy 4:8).

Pastors Randy and Paula White (Tampa, Fla.) overcome great adversity and setbacks in their personal lives to build Without Walls International Church which has mightily impacted the poor and helped the disenfranchised throughout their community. Few Pastors dare to lift those in the inner-city as have the Whites, who surely have sown in tears personally while ministering to humanity.

The Whites are being persecuted for owning a $1.9 million jet and a $3.5 million condo in New York. Owning a plane is certainly less expensive in terms of time and money spent to fly commercial airlines when you have a demanding speaking schedule around the world as do the Whites. Unfortunately in August 2007, Randy and Paula White announced their divorce. I pray somehow they can reconcile and be renewed in their marriage as they are a tremendous blessing to the body of Christ and greatly loved.

Joyce Meyer Ministries (JMM) apparently was the first to receive an inquiry letter regarding her ministry's financial integrity from the Republican staff of the Senate Finance Committee led by Senator Grassley.

JMM continues in its desire to be transparent, and has posted its 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006 audited financial reports on the ministry website. Also available for viewing are the 2004, 2005 and 2006 annual reports (above and beyond the level of accountability required by law and/or that expected by most donors).

JMM has been committed to helping hurting people for more than 20 years, and is proud to point out that in 2006, 82% of its total expenses were used for outreach and program services directed toward reaching people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. When I was in India, Joyce Meyer had just left and the Indian Pastors were telling me how she was giving them bicycles and TVs for ministry purposes.

JMM also provided more than 11 million meals in 2006, and built nearly 200 freshwater wells and churches in underdeveloped countries. The ministry fully funds and operates more than 50 orphanages around the world, and presents the Gospel to a potential audience of 3 billion people every day via its television program.

JMM is honored to be a small part of spreading God's love and His Word to millions of people around the world. The ministry strives to conduct all activities with excellence and integrity, just as it has for more than 20 years.

As the government takes on the powerful Church world, the ministers of God should simultaneously be standing up and pointing out the corruption in government. Consider the hundreds of millions of dollars wasted on bailing out corporate crooks on Wall Street, who had no intention of repaying the government and taxpayers. Wars overseas are not cheap either and come at the cost of precious human lives.

David, a man after God's own heart, cried out: "How the mighty have fallen" (2 Samuel 1:19). Sadly it is so, but truly God alone is Almighty and our rock of ages. In Him alone will I trust.

Truly "judgment begins in the house of God" (1Peter 4:17) after which America itself shall be judged for the hypocrisy of its own failed democracy and foreign policy - not to mention its own wasteful spending of hundreds of billions of dollars on war without end.

Pray for the ministers of God who live in flesh and blood too! We who love the Lord must keep our eyes on Christ not His followers.

Let God be true and every man a liar (Romans 3:4), particularly the "false accusers" in Congress who approve war spending without end and refuse to keep their own accountable for misdeeds (see 2 Timothy 3:3).

I fear for Congress persons who through their excessive investigations cost sincere and proven ministers millions of dollars in legal fees (monies which could have been used for the intended purposes for which God's people gave it, but are otherwise being misappropriated to answer all excessive Congressional probes and inquiries).

Truly God's servants have humbly cooperated and will continue to do so. Congress however must attend to its own misuse of funds and indiscretions before it seeks to point the finger at God's servants within the Church of Jesus Christ.

Paul F Davis is a worldwide minister who has touched 55 countries and life-changing author of 17 books building bridges globally and empowering people in Christ to fulfill their God appointed destiny.

Tiger Woods Transgressions and Infidelity Forgiven at the Judgment Free Zone

Friday, December 11. 2009

Tiger Woods is desperately paying for playing.

Yet let we who are without sin cast the first stone. On that note may all of Tiger's accusers be silenced.

God help Tiger, Elin and the kids get through this difficult season.

As for transgressions, we all are guilty of the same and without sin.

I commend Tiger on his website for going public acknowledging and apologizing for his transgressions. Acknowledging mine as well, I have no desire to beat a man while he is down. On the contrary, the cross of Christ is a judgment free zone where all accusers are silenced (John 8:10) and there is hope for the undone, unwretched and broken in need of healing and redemption.

We who are spiritual ought to be quick to show our love, compassion and support for those overtaken by transgression and in the spirit of meekness consider ourselves also [remembering that we too are weak:] lest we too be tempted and fall hard (see Galatians 6:1).

Christ is the way out of darkness and the transgressions that ensnare our souls. Call upon Christ Jesus who saves to the uttermost and makes the foulest clean and pure within by His sacificial blood shed on the cross and mighty Holy Spirit that brings about a glorious liberation and resurrection for all who believe.

Yet for the redeemed to cross over and get out of the sin that so easily ensnares us all (Hebrews 12:1), we must be reminded that "the way of the transgressor is hard" (Proverbs 13:15) and daily endeavor to "bring forth fruit worthy of repentance" (Luke 3:8) lest we return to our former ways like a dog to its vomit (2Peter 2:22). May God's grace and lovingkindness empower us all to happily and wholeheartedly pursue Him, love people and redeem the lost.

My writing is merely an observation of the repercussions of wrongdoing to warn myself and everybody else lest we too fall in a similar way (Galatians 6:1). For we who live in flesh and blood are weak and tempted likewise daily. Jesus Himself said, "Pray that you do not enter into temptation for the body is weak, but the spirit is willing" (Matthew 26:41).

Nevertheless if and when we fall {God help us not to I pray}, we have an advocate with the Father - Jesus Christ the righteous (1John 2:1). Christ came not to condemn (John 3:17), but to lift us all up out of our mess and give us a message of hope for the world.

Christ is the end of sin when we receive Him, as the Lord by the Holy Spirit comes within us to inhabit our hearts and empower us daily to govern our minds and harness our bodily appetites. The only way to consistently and continually conquer the flesh is through the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:13; Zechariah 4:6). Pray Tiger and all those struggling will experience the glorious liberation and power of the resurrection found in Christ Jesus.

Pray for Tiger and Jesus Christ to powerfully visit him as he endeavors (according to his own admission - http://web.tigerwoods.com/news/article/200912117801012/news/) to be "a better husband, father and person".

I predict after this season of suffering that Tiger will achieve self-mastery, marital reconciliation and shine even brighter than before receiving standing ovations for his humility and willingness to work on being a man of integrity. God help us all to do likewise.

Life Balance Speaker: Human Being, Human Living, Human Doing

Friday, December 11. 2009
As the ice-cream drives by playing "When the saints go marching in..." I'm reminded of the Bible Scripture that says in God we "live, move and have our being" (Acts 17:28).

Certainly our Creator is not far from anyone of us (verse 27). All we need to do is quiet our restless soul and feel our way to our heavenly Father and spiritual freedom.

All human beings were created in the image of God being triune like the Creator. God in heaven expresses Himself in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Human beings possess spirit, mind and body (1Thessalonians 5:23).

In our present era and society much emphasis is put upon a healthy body and educated mind. However the third and deepest element of the spirit within also is a powerful component to a stable, strong and solid life.

The spirit within imparts power beyond the natural realm enabling us to be intuitive, inspired and ignited from within to live our dreams beyond the limitations and confines of the natural world... including the dictates of the marketplace and society that put educational constraints on professional promotion.

Because there is a spirit in man that can access the Spirit of God and gain wisdom beyond one's natural years and power beyond the natural realm. Therefore promotion can rapidly come from God according to your divine connection and ability to yield to the Spirit flowing in, to and through you.

When you welcome the Holy Spirit into your life and surrender your agenda, pride and tendency to strive the grace of God comes in and carries you to your God intended destiny and personal promised land feely... making the journey far more fun and enjoyable.

Moreover God being a Father usually brings others along for the ride making the experience more deeply meaningful and fulfilling.

In God when you rest content in your divine connection and inner relationship, insecurity vanishes and internal peace comes to settle your heart. Thereafter you stop fighting for position and promotion, realizing in God you have already arrived at your appointed place and thereby spontaneously follow the leading of the Spirit to any divine appointments sheduled for you.

Once you are positioned in God to inwardly dwell and happily be, thereafter the heavenly Father's divine plan and blueprint for your life can begin to flow forth.

Then you purposefully live and do that which God by His Spirit drops into your heart daily. Not because you have to, but because you want to and it feels right inside of you. Therefore as you naturally and spontaneously abide in the vine, you shall naturally and effortlessly bear forth fruit.

Reconnect with your Creator to be, live and dynamically do!

In God good things await you!

Tiger Woods Mistresses and Whores Costing Him Big Money

Wednesday, December 9. 2009
The NY Post tallies up Tiger Wood's bimbos he was sinking holes with while he was married to 10 so far. Others jokingly speculate there must be 18 holes out there somewhere for the golfing great. Tiger certainly kept himself busy on and off the greens it seems.

By the looks of the pictures of these many women on the NY Post, I don't know what Tiger was thinking. Some of the ladies look less than attractive to say the least.

PepsiCo-owned Gatorade decided to axe the Tiger Focus drink.

Tiger Woods signed a five-year deal with Gatorade in 2007 for an estimated $100 million.

Since the 14-times major winner crashed his car on 27 November, many women have claimed to have had affairs with Woods.

There are also reports that adverts featuring Woods have vanished from US prime-time broadcast and cable TV. According to data from US media research firm Nielsen, the last prime-time advert featuring the 33-year-old golfer was a 30-second Gillette item on 29 November.

Truly the Biblical Scripture does not lie when it says: "By means of a whorish woman a man is reduced to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life" (Proverbs 6:26).

Many of Tiger's former mistresses and whores are surfacing, speaking and collecting payments for their public confessions to tabloids. Proving true the words above from Proverbs about dirty dames after dough turning on their former flings for fame and fortune.

There is good reason for marriage to uphold the sanctity of intimacy and one's personal privacy in the bedroom.

Now Tiger is desperately paying for playing.

Meanwhile the NY Post reports Elin is trying to pick up the pieces and put her life back together in Sweden with a new $2.29 million home purchase on an island near Stockholm.

God help Tiger, Elin and the kids get through this difficult season.

Pride Goes Before a Fall - God Help Us to Stand Honorably and Live Purposefully

Wednesday, December 9. 2009

While reading a Washington Times article on Tiger Woods recent struggles, I scrolled down to check out the comments.

One in particular, most likely a Greek saying caught my eye:

"Those whom the gods wish to destroy, they first make great."

Of course I believe in the one great God, but the principle remains true... in regard to our adversary.

The devil too Jesus to a high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time and said to Jesus, 'All this power will I give you and the glory of them: for it is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will give it. If you therefore will worship me, all will be yours." (Luke 4:5-7)

Of course the devil is the father of lies (John 8:44) and seeks nothing more than to steal, kill and destroy us (John 10:10). Life more abundantly however is found in Christ as we live in the Spirit (John 10:10).

Yet the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life tends toward destruction if we allow ourselves to be immersed and engulfed by it. These are undoubtedly a snare to the soul, dwarfing our potential and thwarting our purpose.

If we will but humble ourselves and go on bended knee to our Creator He will uphold us and lift us up over every temptation and trial and carry us into our personal promised land enabling us to joyfully live purposefully as we daily love and give God the glory.

Carlos Dunlap Florida Gators Defensive End DUI and Suspension Before SEC Championship

Saturday, December 5. 2009

Days before the Florida Gators SEC and potentially national championship, their star defensive end Carlos Dunlap was arrested by Gainesville police at 3:58am for drunk driving.

Carlos Dunlap was arrested early this morning and booked in Alachua County jail on a DUI charge.

Florida coach Urban Meyer suspended Dunlap for Saturday's game in Atlanta. Meyer said after Tuesday night's practice that Dunlap had made "a very poor decision."

"I have not spoke to him or his family yet. ... He's not going to play. But I want to visit with him and his family first and go from there,'' Meyer said. "We've had distractiom after distraction (this season). This is a very serious one, obviously, so ... it is a distraction. But sometimes this team has found ways to get a little tighter in distractions and we have had a few of them this year."

It hurts the Florida Gators because Alabama's first two drives of the football game (in progress at this writing) put an immediate 9 points on the scoreboard.

Yet I respect coach Urban Meyer for commanding his ball players and leading them in life, suspending such harmful and hazardous behavior, while doing what is best for human life over a football game.

Although it hurts to see the Gators struggling on defense because of the suspension, I'd rather see the Gators lose a game than somebody lose a life because of drunk driving by a college football player.

Whether or not Dunlap is the NFL's number 3 choice in the draft and an All-American, driving drunk is a bad decision and the timing is horrendous for the Florida Gators as they play for a national championship.

I pray Dunlap and his family can overcome this.

I lost my mom to drunk driving and was nearly killed by a drunk driver in 2008.

Christmas Minus the Mess of Merchandise, Excessive Accumulation and Media Mesmerization

Saturday, December 5. 2009
Christmas minus the mess

Is most glorious

Christ without merchandise

Is elegant and nice

Excessive shopping

Going here, there, and everywhere

Frantically looking and buying

Certainly this rat race

Has nothing to do

With seeking God's face

Neither adoring the Lord

Nor entering His loving embrace

On the contrary

It comes with a bit of distaste

As it drives you furiously

To go with the flow

Be like everyone else

Buy lest someone cry

Yet one thing you've not detected

The most important Person you've neglected

Christmas is about Christ

Have came from heaven to earth

Giving us his life

That we here below

May experience newness of life

Not that we'd consumed by black Friday

Holiday preparations and strife

Worried when finances are tight

Maxed out on credit cards

Borrowing beyond our means

Such things do demean

The very thing for which Christ died

Perhaps we need to reevaluate

And examine our hearts inside

Lest our foot soon slide

And we be overtaken by our sins

Christ came to empower us to win

Victory comes through Christ the King

By His Spirit He makes you to sing

Christ the Lord

Is fun and never bored

The Spirit of Christ

Moves you Godward

Cleanses your heart

From being froward

Baby Jesus was crucified

Nevertheless conquering disappointment

Christ rose from the grave

His life the greatest gift He gave

His sacrifice for souls to save

Christ rose again on the 3rd day

Now than what will you say?

With this Immanuel what will you do

The King of kings and Prince of peace

Who wholeheartedly died for you?

Breaking Addiction: Fighting Addiction with Divine Power to Revolutionize Your Mental and Physical Health

Friday, November 27. 2009

Upon glancing at a newspaper this week, I stumbled upon an article titled "How to Fight Addiction" that never talked about how to fight addiction. The article, written by William Moyers (Vice President of the Hazelden Foundation, one of the world's largest nonprofit addiction-treatment centers), unfortunately was concluded by saying, "There is still no cure for addiction--more research is needed. But there is a solution that includes personal responsibility."

While I agree with the personal responsibility behavioral component, that alone will not suffice when an addict is overwhelmed and overtaken by a controlling substance to which they have become chemically and neurologically addicted.

Psychologists and therapists often fail to acknowledge and mention the triune nature of mankind -- that is we are spirit, mind and body. Overcoming fleshly compulsions and tendencies require our minds to be renewed and are spirits awakened. If we only fight and battle the fleshly tendencies and pull on us mentally, we will sometimes cave and yield to the flesh.

Yet if our spirit is energized, awakened and activated to participate in the battle -- the common sense of our mental faculties combined with our quickened spirit within will outweigh the flesh and be able to overcome it.

Jesus Himself said: "The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak" (Matthew 26:41). Christ's prescription therefore was that we should pray so we don't fall prey to and get taken over by temptation.

The prophet Zechariah declared, "It's not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit saith the Lord" (Zechariah 4:6).

The apostle Paul acknowledged his "vile body" and fleshly weakness (Philippians 3:21), but said the key to overcoming the flesh is with the power of the Spirit.

"If you live after the flesh, you shall die: but if you through the Spirit do mortify (crucify) the deeds of the body, you shall live" (Romans 8:13).

"They that are after the flesh, do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. To be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace" (Romans 8:5-6).

Energy flows where focus goes.

Most addicts are so engrossed in their addiction physically that when therapists and psychologists tell them mentally to fight it, they become overwhelmed by the whole process and further enamored with the very substance they are trying to resist.

It is no different with sin. If you continually behold and focus on something, eventually it is likely you will give in and attend to it.

Therefore the way to freedom is to focus on something else and live purposefully by arousing your mind and spirit to attend to something more meaningful and fulfilling.

We become what we behold. Therefore lift up your eyes to heaven where your help comes from! Upon looking upon our Creator and Lifegiver above, we will be filled afresh with His life and love to thereby love ourselves sufficently to break free from substances unnecessarily entangling and dwarfing our lives.

"Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord." (2Corinthians 3:17-18)

This is why taking responsibility is not enough. Because if you put an addict in a room with other addicts desirous of "taking responsibility" and humbly acknowledging their addiction, they all still sit there bound beholding one another. Beholding a room full of addicts may make you feel responsible, but it does not liberate your spirit and soul.

You must lift up your eyes and reposition your focus. Otherwise freedom will never come as long as you continue to behold your bondage and sit in a room with the bound.

The apostle Paul acknowledged his frail and pitiful state in the flesh saying, "O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from this body of death?" (Romans 7:24)

His revelation which led to his great deliverance and liberation - I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. (verse 25)

Jesus was a "child of the Holy Spirit" (Matthew 1:18).

When we therefore connect with Christ and "live in the Spirit" the constraints of the flesh can be broken and our lives freed.

"Walk in the Spirit and you shall not fulfill the lusts of the flesh" (Galatians 5:16).

Herein is the addict's solution, deliverance and liberation.

Prayer for freedom from addiction. Fall to your knees and pray out loud:

"Wonderful Jesus, thank you for dying for me so I can live free! Forgive me for my sin and dishonoring my body. I believe You rose victorious over sin, death, hell and the grave Jesus. Now come mightily and deliver me from this torment of addiction. Fill me to overflowing with your blessed Holy Spirit so I can experience liberation, become a new creation and fulfill my purpose powerfully for your glory. Reverse the curse for me and help me live in liberty. Come Lord Jesus and reign in me giving me newness of life. Amen."

If you prayed that prayer, please write and tell me.

Family Substance Abuse Prevention Speaker: Heal and Empower Families with Substance Abuse Prevention Speaker Paul F Davis Powerful Stories

Wednesday, November 25. 2009

Warm greetings from sunny Florida!

Thank you for taking the time to invest in prevention awareness for youth, parents and families in your city.

My video is attached and personal testimony detailed below.

Substance Abuse Prevention & Drunk Driving Detour Speaker
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQ3lBNb3e9k

I grew up the son of an alcoholic and drug addict mother, who graduated from high-school with honors. My mother was a high-school cheerleader and homecoming court participant. She also graduated from University with honors. Yet because of poor choices, inappropriate friends (primarily boyfriends); she began abusing substances and became an addict.

Ironically, my mother who was a frequent drunk driver and substance abuser herself... was killed by an 18 y/o drunk driver at the age of 49 on the streets of Orlando. Eight years later in July, 2008 I was hit by a 61 y/o drunk driver and nearly killed, she earning her second DUI on a revoked license and being imprisoned on the spot.

Thus I have been deeply victimized by drunk driving and substance abuse throughout my life. My half-brother tormented my step-mother and father for 10 years as a result of his continual problems with law enforcement and imprisonment due to substance abuse.

Today my younger brother has a breathalizer device on his car without which it won't start to drive. Thankfully my 31 year-old-brother now is trying hard to stop drinking and smoking.

As for me, I have never smoked and do not drink alcohol. Thankfully at a young age my father got me involved in sports: weight training, baseball, tennis, surfing and listening to motivational talks. As a former lifeguard, personal fitness trainer and nutritional consultant I cannot fathom putting harmful substances into my body. Alcohol kills brain cells, slows your metabolism (causing you to gain weight), dulls your senses and makes you sleepy. I alternatively prefer having maximum energy and life for peak performance.

As a life coach I empower youth body, mind and spirit to be their best, break limitations and live their dreams!

Overcoming Adversity - Be Empowered to Live Victoriously
http://www.youtube.com/watchv=kXLjy29PMXo&feature=related

My beloved grandfather, a retired U.S. Army Lt. Colonel died at 83 y/o due to an 11:30am fall at a local convenience store during which he was out secretly swigging on a small bottle of vodka. My maternal grandfather secretly had a drinking problem, which my mother (his daughter) later acquired ...a generational curse I have broken with God's help.

Yet when my grandfather fell as a result of old age balance issues combined with drinking, he hit his head so hard that after he was hospitalized (and thankfully I visited him that night at the ER and got to speak to him) during the late night hours he had a stroke. Following the stroke the next day (until the time he died two months later) my grandfather could not speak.

It was a tragic loss and way to go for he, my grandmother and myself. Pop-Pop lived such an honorable life serving God, country and his community.

Sadly substance abuse is very prevalent in the military. Even a dear cousin of mine, an Army Ranger and force recon officer has struggled putting down the bottle. Yet I believe often it is an emotional and internal problem, which we wrestle with and resort to substances to medicate and temporarily alleviate. However the reality is after the substance wears off, the unresolved problem(s) remain.

Yet I understand how easy it is to subtly be snared by using (and eventually abusing substances). Even I myself used injectable steroids and HgH (growth hormone) for a short while until realizing the foolishness of it and laying it down to pursue natural health inside and out.

Again alcohol and substance abuse is a horrible liability that continually subtracts from everyone's lives and deeply hurts and scars families.

Thankfully I have been able to turn my personal pain (from all of these experiences) into a powerful platform to persuade humanity, save lives and heal & empower families.

As a licensed minister with counseling know-how, I also am able to address mental health issues and empower people spiritually to overcome physical addictions.

I wish you the greatest success in speaking to and persuading your youth, parents and families to live powerfully and substance free.

Drunk Driving Prevention Speaker: Honolulu, Hawaii DUI Prevention, Wall of Shame

Wednesday, November 25. 2009

Honolulu, Hawaii police arrest more than 80 people a week for investigation of drunken driving.

Mug shots of drunken driving suspects are landing on the Honolulu Police Department's Web site, creating a virtual wall of shame long before suspects get their day in court.

Supporters agree the experiment in public humiliation to be launched Wednesday should be used elsewhere in the nation if it reduces the number of drunks and fatalities on the road.

Critics counter the photo gallery is a heavy-handed tactic that threatens to violate constitutional rights and stain reputations without court convictions.

Yet if it saves lives and reduces drunk driving in Hawaii, I say let's take this practice nationwide and save lives!

Negative Emotional/Health Effects of Multitasking & Taking on Too Much

Tuesday, March 25. 2008
The negative emotional and health effects of multi-tasking are the tendency to not be fully present, be divided in your heart and mind, and lack focus professionally and personally.

All of these contribute to the fragmentation and alienation of one's soul, resulting in mental and physical exhaustion.

There is nothing wrong with multi-tasking, but inwardly people should even in their multi-tasking focus on one task at a time and remain fully present. Otherwise during multi-tasking the inward frustration and excessive inner activity can lead to a multiplied weariness on the mind and body.

Seaching for Work, Dream Jobs, Personal Sacrifice, & Negotiating What's Important to You

Friday, March 21. 2008

1. Sometimes sacrificing certain perks is worth taking a "dream job" wherein you'd be happy in your line of work and feel good about what you do.  Nevertheless examine your own needs and do a "gut check" before proceeding.  There is always opportunity, leverage, and room for negotiating everything.

2. If you show yourself too enthusiastic from the get go, your employer may take advantage of you considering you've revealed your intense passion for the position.  You don't want to be at a disadvantage, over burdened with too many work hours weekly, and come to hate your the dream job you once loved.

3. The benefits you definitely should negotiate earnestly for before accepting an offer for a dream job are: health insurance, 401 K, stock options, 40 hour work week, and 2 weeks paid vacation annually.

4. If you negotiate early when you are considering accepting the position, there should be no resentment later.  Resentment only happens when you emotionally allow yourself to get carried away without considering what is best for you entirely in every area of your life.  Seek life balance and account for total harmony in every aspect of your life before saying yes to a position.  Do this and avoid resentment later.

5. In the current economy, both job happiness & satisfaction and a good salary with benefits are vital.  Based on your current situation you must decide which is more pressing, urgent, and necessary.

6. In the current market with boomers retiring, companies are desperate for committed and talented professionals.  Therefore don't prematurely get too overly emotionally attached to a job offer until you negotiate all the details in regard to compensation, benefits, and special requirements.

7. Consider any contractual clauses that may lock you into a long-term working relationship, prevent you from leaving to go work for a competitor, and hinder your career.  Remember you are in charge of your own career development and growth, not a company.  Therefore beware of signing your life away professionally and personally.

8. Live your dreams and do life your way, never letting money or an employer get in the way.
